review 1: It was an ok read, it wasn't too technical with all the genetics thrown in. It did leave some loose ends, but nothing that detracted from the story or main characters. The pacing at times felt slow and did't really have me sitting on the edge of my seat. The characters interacted well with one another, but I never really cared much about what happened to them. I'm not sure I would grab another book by this author and definitly wouldn't recommend this one. That's kinda hard for me to say, I generally enjoy everything I read.
review 2: This novel is well-written and has some imaginative elements to it. The characters are not, to me, all that interesting, nor are they developed very much, except for the protagonist. As a "mystery thriller", it left me wanting more... more of a story and more twists and turns. The locations, other than the Bay Area, could have been better elaborated. It's good, but had the potential to be much more than good. less
