review 1: This novel combines my two favorite genres; science fiction and murder mysteries. That does not make it unique but the way Sawyer weaves the tale is. The references and style that pays homage to classic detective stories combined with the interesting descriptions of life on Mars makes for a compelling tale and a fun change of pace for Sawyer fans. I for one would not mind if he goes back to this setting for a future novel or maybe shorter works.

I loved the genre bending. A hard-boiled PI case in a sci-fi world. Well done on both fronts.
