review 1: If you are grabbing this to jump in the only things that you really need to know is that Rick and his group have found a new like-minded community. Upon traveling to The Hilltop, Rick makes a deal to take care of a group that extorts The Hilltop for its supplies in exchange for protection. This group is known as The Saviors.Kirkman, Adlard and Rathburn pour so much effort into 97-102 that leave you only wanting more. The story is an excellent read, but these issues need the six before it so give you a better idea of where Rick is that leads him to the choices he makes, which places Rick's group in danger.This really is so important and pivotal to the series as we see a new villain that rivals maybe even surpasses The Governor. review 2: Is this series still good? Yes. But...it's getting a bit dull. The plot just keeps repeating. People meet Rick and then die in horrible ways. Rick and his friends come to town and inadvertently make things much, much worse. You'd think that people would have started banding together to hunt zombies, or raid an old weapons shop for some flame-throwers and such. And I'm a realist when it comes to how people would act in a disaster like this one - everyone tends for his/her own and couldn't care less about the rest - but the constant battles between settlements is getting old. And on a more practical side, aren't they starting to run out of canned food? What about things like toilet paper and soap? I'm not joking when I say that a fight over the last package of 2 ply toilet paper in America would be more believable than a child getting shot through the eyeball and surviving. less
