review 1: Bull River leaves me a bit in a bit of a conundrum. I love Hitch and Cole and Mr Knott does a great job capturing them. However, the entire books feels...too real maybe? This feels like a documentary film crew followed around the characters as they wander through a mystery and lacks a 'big climax' to round out the story. This caused me to feel a bit conflicted on the entire story and like I was reading the in-between chapters in a book.
review 2: like all of the Parker series from the last 15 years are so, this book again reads fast and easy. Parker's style of small chapters that are basically a sentence (idea) or a short conversation each is a hard format to get used to, but once you see how the stories flow this style adds to the enjoyment of Spenser, Stone,
... more Sunny or the marshals Cole and Hitch. Hitch and Cole fit this format the best as they are not wordy men but action men. they plan or study the situation and then act. they think so much alike that that there is little need for long conversations unless when interacting with the other players in the story. less
