review 1: I love this series and I'm hopeful Robert Knott can continue in the same vein as Robert B.Parker. Particularly like this theme that encompasses the railroad. He seems to have his railroad lingo down. I like the character of "Jimmy John LeFlore", Choctaw Indian and telegraph lineman. That's a nasty bow and arrow he carries. Easy and quick read but you don't want it to end. Highly recommended to Western fiction buffs.
review 2: I was prepared to hate it, I mean, it IS NOT Robert B. Parker! And I'm mad at the publisher for trying to make bank off of his name. BUT, it was a very entertaining read, similar to Parker, but still different. I think Robert Knott is a very good writer and instead of selling his soul he should have published his work, under his name, with
... more his own character. That said, this was a pretty good story, well written, and fast paced. less

Not up to Parker's standard, but very readable. Knott gets better in the next book in the series.

Interesting book! Not my usual story, but our library is small.
