Mercury Series
review 1: A thoroughly enjoyable read. The second in the Mercury series has all the elements that made me love the first book so much. Humor, action and a very unique take on angels, demons and the possible end of the world.Robert Kroese has a wicked sense of humor and it doesn't let up in this book. It's what makes this series so good. I actually laugh out loud, and I don't do that often while reading. This book picks up just after the apocalypse has been averted and, while the world survived, all is not well. Mercury, the smart ass angel, is still on the outs with the rest of heaven's angels and Satan still has an ace up his sleeve. Christine and Mercury have to figure out the plot and stop it before the world, and possibly the entire universe is destroyed. All in all, a l... moreight-hearted romp through history, the world and higher planes of existence. If you enjoyed Mercury Falls, you'll like the sequel. I look forward to starting the third in the series.
review 2: Kroese really come into his own here, with the direction for this series and the character of Mercury. The direction? Chaos chaos chaos... but funny chaos. And Mercury? He's either a roguish hero playing a baffoon or a baffoon that lucks into acts of roguish heroism. Or heroic roguishness. Or heroic buffoonery as committed by a rogue. Or... well, you get the idea. The plot is convoluted with characters and scenarios and theoretical physics whizzing past you at lightning speed. Eventually I gave up on the plot, which had something to do with gravitons (?) and YA fiction (??) and taking over and/or destroying the world (??!?). Instead, I focused on just being entertained. less

Quick read, but it was entertaining and funny. This one was better than the first. On to the third!

A decent sequel. I didn't feel the same connection with the characters as I felt in the first book.
