review 1: A short, funny story featuring the wisecracking, free-spirited angel Mercury, who here is correcting a time anomaly. Mercury finds a saxophone player blasting out very good jazz music in an ancient world cave club, but according to the divine plan jazz isn't scheduled to come into existence for more than 3,000 years. If this story is your first and only introduction to the Mercury series you may find it clever and funny, but not worth a book length expansion. Not true. Though Mercury Swings only has room to be an extended joke, Mercury Falls is a lot richer, addressing issues of free will and end time politics while still maintaining the clever wit found in this story.Free for Kindle on Amazon.

... moreng threatened by an ancient mafia, his only weapon being threats of changing them into iguanas? This is billed as a prequel to Mercury Rises. I'd call it more of just a 'Oh, desperate for some Mercury? Can't wait for Mercury Rises? Here's a tease of a short story to remind you of why you love him to tide you over' short story that doesn't necessarily go with Mercury Rises but if you really stretched your imagination, you could squeeze it in there somewhere.Having read Rises before reading Swings? I have to give this one 5 stars where I gave Rises 4 (would have been 4.5 if I could have). A short tends to really force focus in on one or two characters, in this case the title character of the series -- Mercury (sorry, no Christine here). I personally love love love these little side adventures Mercury seems to find himself a part of as they're far more interesting and really let us get to know the characters vs the bigger storylines on the main books which are sometimes so busy that our main characters get a little lost to us in all of the drama. It's hard to imagine one of these short Mercury adventure scenes being anything less than 5 stars. less

Well, if you think that this book is about sex, you're wrong. But it's lots of fun, anyway!
