review 1: I don't like the ending of James Adam's long adventure. I really wanted him to die. I'm not kidding. I kind of don't like him, because of his cheating ways and dim-witted mind. All he can think about is his ding dong. I know, for one, that Kerry should had dumped him faster than ever, but oh well. I'm finally done with this series. Thank goodness. Shadow Wave is nothing like James Bond or Alex Rider. This is the last one, and it is perhaps the weirdest of them all. Think of it as propaganda. Or somewhere close to it. Or think of it as Leverage and things like that (Burn Notice, and some episodes of White Collar totally count). I'm sure there are more examples. Helping the little people who are overrunned by the rich and powerful. These MI5 agents can help bring them "leve... morerage." As I said before, James Adam does not die. However, he does lie to his girlfriend (whose name I am not telling you for spoiler purposes) about his latest plans/schemes. And surprisingly (for once), it does not involve the skirt of some random woman/girl. To this, I have to say that I am impressed by James' will in resisting those "manly urges." (Mulan, if you didn't know). And I'm not talking about "fixing things, cook outdoors" or those other things.(I think it is rather obvious that I'm referencing a lot of things. Please ignore them if you can. If you don't want to or you want to test your memory, go right ahead and guess where these things, these quotes come from). Shadow Wave is shorter than the previous books of the same series. Honestly, it is an odd ending, and it proves little other than the fact that James is loyal to his friends (which is obvious from the very beginning) and that Zara (the chairwoman of CHERUB) isn't as strict as the previous chairman/chairwoman (like Dr. Mac). Okay, I'm going to say that I am disappointed in the ending. I wish that James Adam died in the end. At least, Kerry and Bethany would be happy. I think Lauren would be happy to have double her inheritance. I think. Finally, I just want to say that Robert Muchamore has a bunch of weird last names. Onion. Choke. There are a few others, but I'm wondering if that is his inside joke or something like that. I doubt anyone wants to be called "Lauren Choke." Or "James Choke." Can you imagine James Bond introducing himself as "Broccoli. James Broccoli"? Laugh all you like.Overall, Shadow Wave is okay.Rating: Three out of Five -ofpaperandwords.blogspot.com
review 2: **SPOILER FREE**Shadow Wave isn't my favorite book from the CHERUB series, but I thought it was a great ending to a great story. When the series first started, James was just 12, recruited by Kyle from a broken home. Now, James is a 17 year old boy, almost man, who has completed and taken part in several missions/tragedies that no normal person would experience in 100 lifetimes.Shadow Wave finishes up James' previous mission, involving the Brigands gang, before he returns to CHERUB, where all his graduated friends have returned for a reunion of sorts. James is reunited with his close friend, Kyle, who has some surprising news, involving James' final mission. This book has a much different feel from the previous in the series, as the earlier stories are generally focused around James throughout the entire book. This book, though, is much more inclusive of other characters perspectives, most importantly Kyle's where he has a flashback, highly important to James upcoming predicament.I wouldn't recommend reading this book to anybody who hasn't read the ENTIRE series, but if this is all you have left I guarantee, unless you are expecting a tragic and glorified ending, you will be happy with how the story finishes off. less

And this is it. James' CHERUB career is over. It was a bit sad, reading the last epilogue. A generation of agents we have been following retire and start new lives as university students or whatever, younger kids like Lauren become the senior agents and little brats like Jake and Kevin are no longer so little. The book starts with a short mission related to the Brigands mission in book 11. Probably should have been in that book, because it completes that story. Then we get a wedding and an enjoyable Kyle Blueman story from a few years ago, that will have an effect on James' last mission. In fact, because of what Kyle tells him, James refuses his last CHERUB mission and decides to act independently, helping Kyle who is already retired. This last part is not as spectacular as some fans would have wished, but I found it appropriate to close James' character arc. He has finally grown up and matured, becoming his own man, and the story reflects that. This series has been extremely enjoyable. Nice job, Mr. Muchamore! The

So this is the end. When I look back to the trilogy, there really isn't anything to describe what Muchamore has written. This series in my opinion to better than Alex Rider. Shadow Wave is interesting, but yet I didn't like some of the events, but never less, my favourite thing in the trilogy is the s ensues at campus. Campus sounds like the most awesomest place ever, even with the training and learning.
