review 1: For the genre I liked it. If I wasn't on this committee I probably wouldn't have read this book, but being a sucker for a love story with a happy ending I gave it three stars. I think that Ms. Owens is very imaginative putting her series on another planet that has been colonized by people from Earth...she has developed a full cast of characters and a society with people who come and go in the books. The continuity is there in the few I have read and I like her writing style. A fast and easy read.
review 2: I adore this series. Owens has created such a wonderful world. I'm also drawn completely into it as I read and I'm always sorry to leave when the book is finished. This is one of the better books in the series. I enjoyed it quite a bit more than some of ... moreher more recent releases. I loved both Laev and Camellia and thought their romance was well done. I especially like that, though they're fated heartmates, they can choose to accept the bond or not. That neither of them was ready was a refreshing change. A well written, heartwarming novel. less
