review 1: Waking up in Vegas was a very fun storyline all though it was far-fetched. I enjoyed it because I am not much of a fairytale kind of girl. If you knew my family history you would totally get it. So, I could totally relate to Phoenix that getting attached to anyone enough to say the word “L---“was just not going to happen because what would happen when they died or left. Yet, when she wakes up in Vegas just not in her own run down motel but in a penthouse suite she is in a panic already. But when she sees an unusual ring on his left hand and someone in the shower she thinks this could be a big problem for her. How to get out of it but when Max comes out of the bathroom in only a towel with the best 6 pack on a real man she has ever seen she is in instant lust. She just ... moreneeds to get away but no clothes makes that a problem. He starts to speak of her secret hopes and dreams that she had never told another living soul not to mention her real first name. Man how does he know that? What happened last night all she remembers is taking the sleeping pill before going out for a drink after work and playing two games a pool and a guy offering to buy her a drink, “Oh My God! YOU’RE THAT GUY THAT BOUGHT ME A DRINK!” This where the story starts and it is pretty funny after that. But so far out the realm of normal it is truly a fairytale with a HEA. I have to say there were characters that I was left wondering about because they were left with no answers about like his brother. Provided by NetGalley.com
review 2: For summer, I want books that are light and funny. This is an excellent example of one.The heroine, zany and lovable Phoenix, awakens to find herself hitched to hot Max but doesn't remember the meeting, the wedding or "the deed."Max fills her in on the details and begs her not to leave right away. He tells her his family's philosophy of love at first sight being forever and lures her into relaxing into the odd situation. I have to say, the way he acts in bed should be enough to persuade her to stay!I don't want to give away the plot, but needless to say there are some comic, heartbreaking, and worrisome bumps along the road. It ends well, and I'll admit, that's what I really want from a romantic read. As a representative book from the genre I love, Romantic Comedy, I give this one five stars for having the perfect backdrop, hero, and plot. I wish I'd saved it for the beach, but I plan to read it again next year (maybe poolside!)Why no voting buttons?
