review 1: This book takes you back to the Regency era and gives you a great taste of that time period. You will like the characters, their growing love for each other and the interplay between them, such as laughing at some of their dialogue and antics. One of my favorites was when Regina decorated the drawing room. She was angry and furnished the room with green carpets, purple drapes, gold wallpaper, a blue ottoman, a cherry-wood secretary, a red settee, a pink settee, an orange upholstered chair and a yellow one. Her husband, Edward, likes her spunk. However, will this and his underhanded technique help or hinder her in facing her lifelong problem? Read best-selling author Rose Gordon's charming tale to find out. God bless.
review 2: If you have never read one of Ms.
... moreGordon's books before, you need to start with this one, then read His Yankee Bride and then read the Scandalous Sisters trilogy followed by The Groom series, and then, Lord willing that they're done by that time, the last two books in the Banks Brothers series. Honestly, you could read them the way they were published, but I think reading them in order is best. Okay, so now that I've said all that. EDWARD AND REGINA! I was so so so thrilled to find out that Rose had decided to write about my two favorite sets of parents. It's hard for me to say what I want to say because I don't want to spoil the other books! Regina is such a headstrong character that she quickly became one of my favorites. I absolutely hated her father and brother to the point they're probably lucky they're just literary characters and not someone I could run over with my truck! And Edward...such a bumbling fool! I'm so glad he went out of his way to woo Regina and make her feel special; that she wasn't just a contract to him. This is a series that I will read over and over again until I can't read any longer due to my eyesight going. Ms. Gordon has created a family that you want to belong to and visit often. less
