review 1: Overall, I like the concept of a girl missing her stagecoach departure and being stuck at a military fort. The synopsis on Amazon was enough to make me download this freebie and give it a read. And, it was ok. There are a few anachronisms that stand out. And it wasn't clear to me if the rule of unmarried ladies having to marry within a week was truth, or something Wes made up. The plot was rather predictable with most of it revolving around a few secrets, a few miscommunications, and what was one bubble away from being a mustache twirling villain. But, overall, it was a light and enjoyable read. I don't particularly have interest in finishing the series, but I could see someone else enjoying it a lot.
review 2: I loved this story about a young woman from Boston
... more who ends up at a fort in the middle of Indian territory because her stagecoach driver is drunk and went the wrong way and then left her there without her stuff. She ends up marrying an officer to keep herself safe from all the single men until her betrothed can come and collect her. It was a cute light read and I enjoyed all the fun characters and all the problems she has adjusting to life in the fort. I wish the sex scenes weren't so graphic, but other than that I loved it. less
