review 1: Really enjoyed this book. Especially that the author included herself in the story. That made it more compelling somehow. The aspects of Japanese culture were really interesting and were an important part of the experience as well. I expected more of a typical "time travel" story, but this is more like if time travel were possible, this is how it would actually look. Much more subtle, but powerful.
review 2: This was a great audio book for a long drive, and the author did a magnificent job narrating. In her author's note at the end, she states that the written book has footnotes and appendices not used in the audio version, so may have to back and read the written version someday.
