review 1: I really enjoyed this book. There was one point I almost had to check I wasn't accidentally reading the 7th Harry Potter, but on the whole it was quite an original story. Obviously not the witch part, but the love portion was good. It's not very often you get someone in love with the main character by accident, but I like the way it was handled. On the whole Anna was a pretty good main character, she wasn't overly clingy, she didn't make me want to punch her, and she actually seemed to have a brain. I struggled a bit with trying to see how she was English though, a lot of the writing seemed very American, and some of the English bits were so stereotypical I wanted to cry (tea and buttered scones, anyone?)
review 2: There isn't really much to say about this book
... more apart from that it's good enough, it has a clever and intriguing plot and kept me reading. However, am I the only person who found a very, very close resemblance between this book and the Twilight series? The main character, Anna, is basically identical to Bella Swan, the fact that one of the characters in the relationship of Anna and Seth makes the relationship difficult because one of them is supernatural, and (spoiler coming up!) even the Ealdwitan is THE SAME as the Volturi and at the end, they get a load of witnesses to watch a fight with the Ealdwitan! So, does anyone else see what I'm talking about?? less
