review 1: Quite unfortunately I found that this wasn't a book that much interested me. It was a decent read, but didn't do much for my emotions either one way or the other. My feelings stayed at a constant level of "Eh". Despite the compelling idea of a grieving mother trying to come to terms with a daughter's death and the fact that she is finding love with a much younger acquaintance of her daughter, the idea fell flat and became just your average romance novel with an overly perfect love interest who soothes and heals the protagonists wounds. Caleb is a heartthrob, to be sure, but he felt a little too good to be true for such a "real" premise. There was some raw emotion coming from Jane, but I think I was expecting a little more of that. I had no issue with the age difference, lo... moreve is love, but it all seemed so incredibly unlikely and mostly predictable, which is fine for fluffy chick-lit! I was just expecting this particular book to be more than fluff. Would recommend this to someone who loves their cozy chick-lits, but not for a reader who was looking for a more involved romance.
review 2: I would give this book 3 1/2 stars (wouldn't let me give half stars) This book was okay for me. It was different and sad and bitter sweet. I loved Jane's character. I felt for her. She is real. Some parts felt a little strange for me and seemed a bit drawn out and at times lost my interest. The plot and concept of the book did keep me wanting to know what happened next. The story was realistic and the characters have character!! Over all I would say if the blurb interests you take a chance. less
