review 1: NOPE. I grabbed this book from my work office's book exchange, and should have read the title as a big red flag. First off, I'm not too into romance or chick lit. But my biggest problem with this book is that all the clever phrases and quotes and jokes felt really familiar. Familiar like I've seen them plastered all over memes on Pinterest. The author takes VERY popular and famous quotes and claims them as her own. Quite frankly, I don't know how this book was published, because I feel it is pretty much 70% plagiarized ideas.
review 2: I read a book called 'The affair' by Santa Montefiore, which must be the new title for 'the perfect happiness'. I've checked the plot and it's one and the same. I can understand why many would not want to read his book due to t... morehe subject matter but I have to confess that I really enjoyed this one. I shall certainly be reading more books by Santa Montefiore. I loved the descriptions of Angelica's friends, I loved the portrayal of her warmth as a mother and I loved the description of South Africa where her lover lived. A couple of plot twists made this a great story and one I am happy to recommend. less
