review 1: It starts out with a girl named Eve. She was kidnapped with a lot of other people. The doctors had to stich her together again because she was cut into pieces. The reason she didn't die was because she had some type of powers. So did they other people kidnapped. All of the them looked like dolls cause their perfect skin and hair. Eve couldn't remember anything. She would remember but then she'll have a vision and she would forget everything before the vision. Well Malcom is her police officer that protects her. He made her get a job at a library to help her feel normal. She meets this guy named Zach. He starts liking her. She doesn't know if she likes Zach or This other guy that has powers too. She kisses both of them. They both get jealous when they find out. But she pick... mores Zach cause he makes her feel good and when they kiss whatever they think comes to life like they get powers. He thought about it raining and it actually rained when they kissed. Well Eve is helping solve the case of finding the guy that did this to her and the others. He's still out there looking for her. She ends up remembering everything that happened. She tells malcom all the people that got took. She remembers them being in a circus tent and people when on stage and the magician hurt them. She ends up with Zach and they end up going around the world together. They find the guy who hurt those people. The solve all the cases of the missing people that have powers.
review 2: One of my students allowed me to borrow this book from her. I was super excited to read a story that included a serial killer, magic, and a carnival. What I got was something quite different than I expected. I muddled through the first two chapters, waiting to get some clarity on the main character. It wasn't until chapter three that the story began to gel. That's when I found out how truly magical this book really is. less
