review 1: I LOVED the first 2/3rds of this. The world and the characters were very well-realized and it had the playable and charming feeling of a Zelda game. Raan in particular was very intense and awesome. The ending sort of fell apart a bit though; lots of stuff happening very close together, not a ton of subtlety in the telling, and that's why this is a 3 instead of a 4. Of the three books of hers of I've read so far Durst has proven her ability to write varied, sympathetic female leads with relatable and interesting challenges. Ice is still my favorite though! But I would (might) do fanart of Vessel!
review 2: Utterly creative and original I really liked it. At first I thought that Liyana was going to be just another damsel in distress, but after she killed the snak
... moree and then proceed to skin and cook it I knew that she wouldnt be totally helpless. I kept waiting for Korbyn to double cross them or trick them in some way, because you know trickster god! But when that didnt happen I was acutually kinda dissapointed, which is weird because you always feel so betrayed when they do, but yeah. I didnt really like how much time and detail they spent on each clan and i wished they could have met another god to lessen the pain of loosing all three personalitis at onec which was really sad. I liked the ending it was perfect although I wish she could have healed the people with all that power. less

I really enjoyed the first two-thirds of the book, but found the final third disappointing.
