review 1: I read a lot - and I mean a LOT - of terrific reviews about this series, Throne of glass. So many that I waited a little before buying it - such unanimous enthusiasm kind of pulled me back, but I have yet to see a bad review about it. So I jumped in and joined the lot of those enthusiastic readers. Since I'm a sucker for order, I started with novella #0.1.While it took me some time to like Celeana - she's too spoiled and in awe of her own reputation at the start, I loved the adventurous side of those novellas (hey, there are pirates in it !) and I just adored Sam Cortland.Celeana may be deadly, but she really is a poor judge of character. I could almost pity her. A lot of stuff that I won't spoil about could have been avoided if she had just opened her eyes (and used her b... morerain) but at the same time, she's only 16 when this all begins. Her character grows with the series and I appreciate that. A lot.Throne of glass series, here I come !
review 2: Fantastic glimpse into life for Celaena before Endovier! I enjoyed seeing how hard it was to be under Arobynn's control first hand and seeing that Celaena may be selfish at times, she still has a good heart. I love Sam. Seriously, Celaena was so lucky to have him in her life for so long. Breaks my heart. But alas, Arobynn, being the loser he is, has to always have control and come between people and true happiness. I cannot wait for the next 3 books and see Celaena bring him down. less
