review 1: This was one of those books that I just grabbed off the shelf because I thought that the cover picture looked really cool. As I continued to read, I realised that although the idea of the Rebellion was really clever, Asha only started it to earn money for a vacation. I think that this was really shallow of her. If it was a cause that she really cared about, she should have started the Rebellion just for that. And not as a petty money-making strategy. I think that it was brilliant to come up with a story of a teenager forming a club for mixed ethnicity awareness though, and I could really feel how Asha grew up and matured throughout the book. Overall it was a great book that I would recommend.
review 2: ehh...definitely didn't live up to expectations (well, I
... more didn't really expect it to be good to begin with...) It was kind of one-dimensional. The girls' world never really expanded so it ended up reading more like a fanfiction than a novel, with boring characters and a totally transparent plot. All of the characters' motives seemed unrealistic. And I never really found out what the whole "rebellion" was. less

I read this two years ago, and I gotta admit, I really liked it for what it was.
