review 1: I thought this was an enjoyable book. I really liked the fantasy world and the magic, and it moved along at a good pace. I didn't have any new favorite characters here, but everyone seemed well-drawn, and the writing was good. There were a few things that seemed unresolved, and I kind of would have liked to connect with the characters more, but it was a fun, easy read and I'm looking forward to the next book!
review 2: I know you're not supposed to judge a book by its cover, but that's partly why I chose and love this book. This book deals with portals between worlds and magic. The villain is a traitor to the main character, though you know she’s bad. This book was well written and well paced. After reading this book I immediately wanted to read the sequel; "
... moreSummerkin". The book used two characters (a boy and a girl) to tell the story. The odd chapters, the girl told the story, the even chapters were told from the point of view of the boy. I liked this book a lot and would recommend it. less
