review 1: Another good entry which was then destroyed by what I felt was a weird plot device to explain the mate confusion. Why not just stick with young and confused? Why can't shifters suppress thier feelings and be mistaken? Clearly Preston had done so to refrain from taking action earlier yet Layton cannot be naturally lead astray by his youthful infatuation? I like the addition to the series overall arc/plot but not the method of it's deliverance.
review 2: Scarlet did not drag out Layton's stubborn pursuit of Corbin. Alexis' 'kiss' from the last book actually served to 'cure' Layton of his obscured vision and made him realize Preston was his actual mate. Once they decided to be together early in the book it was a strong solid mating with no doubts and stupid misu... morenderstandings to waste time. I loved this couple! the problems they encountered they tackled together with the help of their friends and family. The introduction of the Sidhe and Corbin's future love interest is a great teaser. I am hoping Rhys gets his mate soon as I love how kind, brave and loyal he is. less
