review 1: This book is a great biblical overview on how to raise funds without losing friends. It has about 24 hours of Bible Study in the back. The author has been a fundraiser for over 20 years, and has great stories (successes and pooches) and is very transparent. Good for any level of ministry - short or long term. Even if you don't raise funds for a living, it has some great financial sense in it. (ala Dave Ramseyesque)Happy reading!
review 2: I read this book before....and it is time to pull it out again as I look to the Lord for courage to hit fundraising hard. "The ball and chain book," as I have heard it affectionately labeled, is great at reminding me of how and what I'm asking for when raising support. It's encouraging in the word's true definition--bringi... moreng courage to my heart and to "my feeble arms and weak knees," and calling me to action over something the Lord has asked of my life right now. I most definitely recommend it to those who are fundraising. It's helped in the Lord changing my mind in a few of my convictions on fundraising and it's helped me to really develop a foundation for what I believe about fundraising before I hastily act. It's revealed a lot of ridiculous things that I will do if I'm not trusting the Lord for what He can do through my asking. less
