review 1: This book is a great biblical overview on how to raise funds without losing friends. It has about 24 hours of Bible Study in the back. The author has been a fundraiser for over 20 years, and has great stories (successes and pooches) and is very transparent. Good for any level of ministry - short or long term. Even if you don't raise funds for a living, it has some great financial sense in it. (ala Dave Ramseyesque)Happy reading!
review 2: I read this book before....and it is time to pull it out again as I look to the Lord for courage to hit fundraising hard. "The ball and chain book," as I have heard it affectionately labeled, is great at reminding me of how and what I'm asking for when raising support. It's encouraging in the word's true definition--bringi
... moreng courage to my heart and to "my feeble arms and weak knees," and calling me to action over something the Lord has asked of my life right now. I most definitely recommend it to those who are fundraising. It's helped in the Lord changing my mind in a few of my convictions on fundraising and it's helped me to really develop a foundation for what I believe about fundraising before I hastily act. It's revealed a lot of ridiculous things that I will do if I'm not trusting the Lord for what He can do through my asking. less
