review 1: Excellent as usual. This is one of my favorite comics. Superhero comics leave a lot to be desired for me now, but "American Vampire" fills the void nicely. I've been reading it since it started and it hasn't disappointed. I love that the story universe encompasses a world of vampires that reflects America. All different kinds of vampires, not just pale European/Anglo vampires. Looking forward to reading the next two volumes.
review 2: Great continuation of the series core mythos that adds several memorable characters. Though not as well crafted and concise in narrative as the preceding volume, still enjoyable. "The Beast in the Cave" pales in comparison to "Death Race" and "The Nocturnes" arcs. Gorgeous artwork throughout. Really enjoyed Travis Kidd's introd... moreuction and will definitely be picking up "The Long Road to Hell" as a result. less
