review 1: This doesn't disappoint, SE Jakes continues to manage to tell the story of two tough men, trying to get to grips with their pasts, while battling with what will shape their future; the hunt for Prophet's rogue team-mate, his failing eye-sight, the little family he and Tommy are building (I hope) with Remmy. SE does a great job, rolling the plot along with well researched action and then hitting you with an terrific sex scene to make you hot and bothered or a tender moment that makes even the butchest bloke or strongest women feel their heart contract.It leaves me wanting more - not just more Prophet and Tommy but more Mal and Cillian, certainly more of the rest of the team (details, want DETAILS!) - and my only crit. would be that I need to know more about John-the-rogue... more.....may be I read too fast but he went from a casual mention to the major villan and I seem to have missed how that happened.. Any chance of a prequel, Ms Jakes? Please? I'm prepared to beg....
review 2: We meet more of Prophet's team, Mal, King, Ren, Hook. More questions are answered as they get closer to finding John, and the truth of what happened. SO many hurdles for Prophet and Tommy to face but now, they face them together.There is nothing I didn't like about this book, what I ADORED was: - The depth of connection between Prophet and Tommy, how that has slowly built over the progression of the books so far. - The chemistry between them is palpable, intense, raw, angry at times, delicious! - It's also a real insight into the struggles that people who suffer from PTSD go through, dealt with with insight and care. - Adore how there is nothing that they won't do for the other, that there is no way Tommy will leave Proph when he gets worse, none! - The fierce protector that Prophet is of everyone but now of not only Tommy but Remy too. Love the instant bond Proph and Remy have. - Absolutely LOVE when Tommy calls Prophet 'Lije' or 'bebe'."Part of me hates that you know me so well.''And the other part?'Prophet gave a faint grin, then said quietly, 'Loves it,' like if he said it too loudly, fate might swoop in and snatch this moment, the word, out from under them.Tom stilled. He didn't need the words, never really had. Like Prophet, he valued actions, but to actually hear that one word out of Prophet's mouth... it was all Tom needed." - Prophet and Tommy I'm ADDICTED to this series, to this couple!!5'Proph and Tommy are definitely one of my fave couples' stars. less
