review 1: Serenity never disappoints and this smoking hot and emotional tale was no exception. The story came alive for me, thanks to Serenity's beautiful descriptions of New Zealand. I wanted to jump on a plane, in fact. One day, I must visit!Merle visits her sister for Christmas, and her sister dares her to have a one night stand, as Merle is in dire need to let her hair down, having put their mother first, since her battle with cancer.I instantly liked the two sisters, Merle in particular. She is so unsure of her feelings and needs at first, but when she does give into them, wooo there are some hot scenes with the delicious Neon. Not only is Neon drop dead gorgeous, but he's also a firefighter (double yum!). He surfs, plays rugby, and even though his nickname is 'feral' as he's co... moremplete commitment phobe, he's really a good guy. And yeah, I may have a little crush on him ;-)I loved this story. Plenty of twists and turns, lots of emotions, hot sex, beautiful descriptions, and characterization, and also very funny in parts.Read it, you won't be disappointed!
review 2: This is such a fun book, with an unusual setting in New Zealand, where I believe the author hails from. She makes it sound like paradise--I wanted to hop on a plane and go after reading this book! It's always interesting to get a look into a culture and country you don't see represented in the American media much, anyway. Lovely setting aside, the author also does a fabulous job with her characters. Although this book doesn't have lots of explicit sex scenes, it is romantic and steamy because the characters have so much sexual chemistry. This book is proof that love scenes don't have to be over-the-top graphic to work. The conflict between the characters is real and you feel for them as they begin to fall in love in the middle of what seems destined to be a short-lived vacation fling. less
