Inspector Singh Investigates
review 1: My first introduction to the Inspector Singh series and it is out of order but none the less I am hooked. In the vein of Ms Marple, Hercule Poirot, but modernized and set in a part of the world I've only recently been able to explore Australasia. At first I wondered if tackling the Bali bombings would be a "too soon" or "to close to home" topic for a writer based in Singapore and prevailing to an Australasian audience but instead it sits right on time and fits nicely into the current gestalt of Moslem extremists and the delicate balance of Indonesian identity.
review 2: Inspector Singh is a wonderful and welcome relief from the usual modern detective. He is not suave or handsome or irresistibly attractive to woman, but he is intelligent and a good detective and
... more he wears nice white sneakers. I love this series - there is just enough foreign flavor to provide added interest and the mysteries are good, compelling and not gory. I thought this second novel in the series was even better than the first - the mystery was a bit more exciting and the writing seemed more confident. I hope Ms. Flint writes many more! less
