review 1: I've read the reviews. I just don't happen to agree with them. But, being an argumentative person by nature, I'm okay with that. Sure, this book isn't going to change the world. But I think it deserves more credit than what it's getting, at least on Goodreads. I like to think of myself as an educated adult and a reasonable judge of a good book. Sure, I hated Jessie and her idiocy. Sure, this book is fluff at best. But, we can't all be wading through War and Peace all of the time, now can we? Nor can we be stuck with glittery vampires around every turn. PS. Jessie's referencing Twilight gagged me with my own bile... Just one more reason to hate her character. Well, maybe you can read such deep and thought provoking works constantly, but I demand more sustenance than that. P... morereferably a light YA novel about werewolves. Not good for mind expansion, but good for a relaxing read. Sprinkle in a bit of gore, violence, likable "good guys" and those characters we wish would be hurt, maimed, and otherwise done away with (in as brutal a fashion as YA permits), sprinkle in sensuality (if I wanted to read sex, I'd pick up a Harlequin) and add a dash of foreign vocabulary and I am smitten. This book would make a decent enough movie if done properly... But I've yet to see a YA book done correctly, in my mind, in the theaters. So, I'll just keep that idea to myself. And if I am the only free-thinking adult on the site that enjoyed this book, then that's okay too. I'm going to start the third book of the series... Well, right now. =)
review 2: I am liking how this story is so original, in way! Not only is the story still progressing but instead of each book having a new problem, each book still faces the same problem just a different twist. It makes me want to read the next book to see if that one will have the final problem solved. Like with the Hunger Games the first book was about survival in the games and the next book was getting back to the basics of life well in relation to the Hunger Games...the characters are still in the "game" trying to get their "survival problem" solved with different twists hindering or helping along the way. (If you get my drift) ;) Enjoy, I am! less
