review 1: I always like these books because Nell Pratt is such a practical and likable protagonist. The settings around Philadelphia are somewhat familiar to me, so I enjoy being able to picture the places she goes. My only complaint about this book is that the actual mystery part was somewhat uninspired, leading to a rather anticlimatical ending. However, as a consolation prize, I guess, we see more of Nell and James' relationship developing. A fun light read.
review 2: I'd give this a 5* but there continues to be glaring continuity issues in her other wise fabulous writing, the easiest one to point out, page 103, Ben takes a bite of his sandwich, page 104, the waitress delivers their sandwiches. Story line fabulous, other editing fabulous, but a continuity/content
... moreeditor who double checks the back story(s) and internal book continuity would take this author from great, to freaking fabulous. "goodread", good mystery, great author, just would be that much better with better continuity checks. If you are going to write mystery, I think continuity becomes crucial, otherwise how does one tell the difference between bad editing and a clue? less

Sorry, don't like mysteries where the author is the only person who knows the clues.
