review 1: I read part one and two back to back in one sitting. Part Two fit so well and bringing Tessa and Anthony into the story the way the writer did was great. I liked how Marie and Nicholas developed their relationship and I also loved the development of Mathieu and I really like Simone. I want more of Darrin's story and I want more of the story. It is a great world the writer is creating and her style keeps me reading til I am done. If you are a fan of the genre you will love it and if you are new to the genre like me you will be pleasantly surprised. The writer Sheri Whitefeather really has a away with words and I highly recommend this series.
review 2: Interesting take on vampires where they can be turned into genies and trapped in jewelry. Marie knew about gen-... morevamps and their ability to grant wishes, and she was given Nicholas as her gen-vamp, who would grant her wish within two weeks in exchange for feeding from her. The little twists came from a spell that could free Nicholas from his imprisonment if he were to fall in love, so he spent the two weeks with Marie trying to do just that.The reason I didn't give it more than 3 stars is that although I liked the story, I didn't feel really connected to the characters. It was a really unique take on vampires and that alone made it worth reading, but otherwise it left me feeling a little cold. Nicholas' attempts at seducing Marie seemed very forced, because you know that he only wants to find true love so he can free himself. It had a selfish feel to it, and that isn't romantic. The love scenes were intersting when he used his powers, and he was fairly smug throughout the story which was humorous. Overall, an okay book. I discovered there was a previous story, but I won't be reading it. less
