review 1: One of the things that the reader will notice when they start reading this book is the rhymes. It’s easy to read and sounds like a lullaby for a bedtime story. This book also gives readers a different perspective of the machines/ equipment’s we use to conduct work such as fixing or developing freeways, roads, bridges, or buildings. Each equipment has the own way of working. Because of the setting is taken place at night, the colors are mostly dark. This picture book celebrates the work that goes on at a construction site. As the day winds down, the trucks complete their final tasks. The crane truck lifts and settles one more beam. The cement mixer pours out its last load. The story follows those big trucks and others such as dump trucks, bulldozers, and excavators all f... moreascinating to young children as they shut down for the day, satisfied with a job well-done. The oil pastel illustrations create a peaceful setting as night approaches that compares with the motion-filled illustrations that show the trucks hard at work during the day. It's no wonder these hard working vehicles need a rest. I loved the cover that shows the excavator gently cradling the moon.
review 2: Oh how I wish I found this book two years ago when I had a few boys who would have eaten this book up! Told in rhyme, this book takes a journey through a construction site where all the trucks and equipment work hard by day, but then are put to rest at night. From the bulldozer to dump truck, cement mixer and cranes, each completes its last chore of the day and then prepares for a night of rest. less

I liked how the illustrator gave the trucks human features and had them come to life.
