review 1: I debated between a 3 or a 4, so if allowed I would have given this book a 3.5. I thought that the story and plot were very unique and had a lot of potential. The book also had a strong female protagonist and I loved how realistic the book seemed, as if this future United States really could exist. My only complaint is that at times the book became boring as it went into drawn out descriptions of types of blood and things that were important to the story but slowed down the action that kept me reading this book. There were many lose ends left at the end of the book as well but otherwise this was a thought-provoking, interesting book.

It felt like there ought to be a sequel. Maybe there will be a sequel. Or maybe I've just been reading too much YA lit in which everything wraps up neatly. less
