review 1: Short-form romance is difficult to pull off. There isn't enough time for either the characters' relationship to develop, or for the reader to come to care about them. This story was nice, but nice like hearing good news about someone you don't really know. You know, like when your friend tells you that her sister, whom you haven't met or maybe were introduced to once, is getting married. "Oh, good for her!" But it doesn't make much difference to you personally. Also, saw the "twist" coming from the first letter.

Now that I've finished, I shall have to dig out my dog-eared copy of Thomas's 'Not Quite a Husband' - in my opinion, the best romance novel ever written. less
