review 1: Ok, a book about post apocalyptic London, an ex-crim-turned-physics-genius who has to save the city from the Russians, the ghetto gangs, oh and the first ever AI trying to turn London into the recently extinct Tokyo. With his sidekick 19 year old genetically enhanced Nun bodyguard. All the while unlocking the secrets of the universe. There's so much action in this book it hurts, I mean REALLY hurts! There isn't much left of Sam by the end of the book, I had to take a breather a few times and check my heart was still beating and I had all my limbs. The ladies in this story kick ass and not in a side kick way, in a "without you this city, and me, are goners" way. They're tough, amazing, smart, gifted and adorably human.Started book two already and loving it maybe even ... moremore!
review 2: Interesting sci-fi set in post-apocalyptic London after nukes have been deployed in various places around the globe. London is overrun with Japanese, Russian & eastern European immigrants who've fled the destruction of their own countries for the damaged sanctuary that London has become. In the midst of the poverty & criminality inherent in such a locale, we have Samuil Petrovitch, a 20-something Russian physics/math savant with his own secret, criminal past. This fast-paced narrative practically leaves you gasping for breath. Good enough that I'll probably read the second book in this trilogy. less

More of an action thriller than an SF novel. I liked it, but not enough to read any of the sequels.

A little post-apocalypse mixed with a little cyberpunk. Fun and quick read.

It was entertaining. The action sequences really bogged it down though.
