review 1: These books have totally sucked me in. Sexy ranchers and angst out my eyeballs. It's almost like a soap opera where the one character you like in the beginning, you start to hate around the middle. The lives of Quinn, Lorcan and Jess are turned upside down in this one as Lorcan and Jess return to town a year after they left, in order to take over Jess's family ranch. Quinn has found an outlet for dealing with the pain of Lorcan's leaving him, but he has never really dealt with it. Jess is willing to take whatever Lorcan can give him knowing that Lorcan wil always love Quinn, and Lorcan is dreading the returning Pegasus and facing Quinn after refusing all of Quinn's attempts to contact him. Events require all the characters to reevaluate where they are and where they ... morewant to be and come to terms with the way their actions have affected those around them. I'm almost afraid of what's in store for the next one. I don't think Ty is going to handle things very well.
review 2: I was completely confused the whole time I was reading this book. Not with the plot of the book but with my own feelings. Anyone who has read my review of Lorcan's Desire will know that I fell hard for Jess in that book and my feelings were Lorcan and Quinn were less clear cut. In this book Jess appears only for a short time but he continues to have a huge impact on the story and on the lives of the other two men. Also, we get to know Ty better in this book and I found him worming his way into my heart as well. So, admitting that I like these two characters better than the MCs, the confusion sets in. Despite hating the way that Lorcan ended up with Jess in the previous book and hating the way that Quinn seems completely oblivious to Ty's growing feelings for him in this book, I still desperately wanted Lorcan and Quinn to be together. It is so obvious that they are perfect for each other and completely in love and when they did eventually get together I had a huge smile on my face. My heart was breaking for Jess and the sacrifices that he made but I am also happy that he has decided not to settle for less than he deserves and hopeful that his reward will come later in the series. I was angry when Quinn dumped Ty without a backwards glance to be with Lorcan, especially as Ty just beginning to have faith in another Dom and even Quinn's ignorance of the true situation didn't lessen my feelings. Now, as well as hoping for Jess, I find myself wishing that Ty will meet someone who will understand him and help him work through his feelings. So, happy as I am that Lorcan and Quinn have finally worked things out, there are a lot more loose ends in this series that I am waiting to see worked out. less
