review 1: This novel is told while Frida is on her death bed. It constantly switches between memories, traditional narratives, descriptions of her paintings, and present time musings on pain. Over all I feel this novel is rewarding but a hard read, since it switches between first and third person all the time. This book is not 100% accurate with the historical Frida, but since she states that at the beginning I'm okay with it.
review 2: I don't know what to make out of this book. How can a biography be fiction. This book was written in both the first person and 3rd person, using both Frida's voice and the author's. But the biggest problem was that there were no pictures of Frida's artwork. The book gave a description of what was happening in her life as she was painti
... moreng her amazing artwork. But there wasn't a single photo. So I had to read it with a computer nearby so I could actually see a picture of her art. less

I liked this little book but it felt very repetitive.
