review 1: Great fun! A wonderful combination of two of my favourite things - a good story that is easy to read, but at the same time explores some serious issues, and food! The style is (or appears to be) effortless, but the prose is evocative and vivid, and, often, funny. The characters are well-developed and likeable (well, most of them!) and the storyline is one that the reader can relate to . . . An honest book that I thoroughly enjoyed.
review 2: I did not enjoy this book, mainly because the main characters (Sophie and James) were not likable and did not appear to develop emotionally throughout the story. I found the story line unbelievable, repetitive and contradictory at times. I personally did not like the style of writing or tone, but that didn't annoy me as
... moremuch as someone getting drugs (both legal and illegal) and over-eating/sleeping a week away because of some guy they were seeing (albeit 'seeing' without any real confidence or commitment). less

Makes Bridget Jones look scholarly in its plot and execution.

Cute story! The ending seemed a bit rushed, but a fun read.
