review 1: I couldn't imagine anything more difficult than what the main character experienced in the first book of this series, until I got into this second installment. Not only are the main characters still battling the nasty Ravens, but the love story is between a jaguar shifter and a hawk shifter. Cats and birds do not get along. Just ask Tweety and Sylvester, if you don't believe me. In 'A Feral Christmas' the author addressed the ongoing battle between the feline shifters and the Ravens, but also introduced another bird shifter species which should, by all rights, despise the felines, too, and then she gave them a romance. It was pretty exciting to watch.Brent is a smart aleck, no doubt about it, so his first interaction with Daniel doesn't go over all that well. Gee, I was so... more surprised. Daniel is the only link that Brent and his family have to the lost shifters, including their other three brothers. Jacyn identified Daniel as the hawk shifter who left him with humans instead of killing him twenty years ago. Brent has tracked Daniel down to get information, but, unfortunately, the hawk shifter has been on the run for twenty years and wants nothing to do with Brent or his questions. The fact that Brent smarts off doesn't help the situation. When the Ravens show up, all bets are off, and Daniel has no choice but to run with Brent since the Ravens want Daniel dead.Brent and Daniel return to the feline coalition's headquarters and it becomes pretty clear to both of them that this is more than just a passing attraction. Brent has a bad history though with people claiming they want to keep him but then they end up leaving when they realize that Brent will never give up the search for his brothers. So Brent is determined to enjoy this time but he knows Daniel will leave him too, in the end. With Daniel's help, Mitchell, Brent, and a feline team are able to locate the one remaining Hawk elder who knows where the children were placed. Even though Daniel was the Hawk alpha at the time, and he made the decision to not kill the children, the Ravens destroyed most of the Hawks and the ones left alive endorsed the elders banishing Daniel. Poor Daniel tried to do a good thing and was rewarded by death to his people and hate from his own family. Daniel is able to get the floppy disc (snort) from the elder and once Rat accesses the information, it gives the coalition the names of all the lost shifters and where they were placed. The story isn't over yet, though. Brent got his Christmas miracle in the form of a loving man and Daniel got a little bit of family in return. This was a wonderful addition to the series and it just makes me desperate for more.
review 2: So, book 2 in this series and it just getting better and better. We met Brent in the previous book, he is Jacyn big brother, and now he is on the mission to find the Hawk shifter who might know were all the lost cubs are. Ohhh... but he wasn't specting that say shifter was hot as hell. Daniel had been on the run for 20 years now, he had learned how to hide his tracks; and that is the reason why he didn't expect the feline at his home and even less the attack.Brent and Daniel's story is very cute, because both of them worship the other but are afraid to demostrate it. After they find the list with all the names and locations of the cubs, Daniel and Brent clear their misunderstanding and declare their love for each other. I seriously loving this series more and more, lets see how it goes later on. less
