review 1: I love baseball and I typically love Stephen King so I started reading this with high hopes. I knew it was a short story but I didn't expect it to be so dang short. It was about an hour read including a few short breaks (rain delays). It is an interesting premise and I felt the characters could have been great ones but it was too short. Neither the premise nor the characters were fleshed out enough, and the ending was quite abrupt. If this is ever fleshed out into a longer short story or novella or, even better, a complete book, I'd be glad to pick it up again. I would love to read more about the characters and to read more about just why these events occurred to this particular man. Stephen King fans will probably enjoy the story as it is but, I suspect, most will ... morebe left wanting as I am. I'm a bit annoyed that I paid $1.99 for it. For the length, I think 99-cents would have been reasonable but I can buy whole books for $1.99.
review 2: I am a long time Stephen King fan, so I am familiar with his style. You are telegraphed what's going on, so as with a lot of Stephen King it'snot the arrival, it's the journey. I was not disappointed, but I didn't think it was his strongest story. You are led down a very creepy path with the main characters growing fear and sudden awarness. You also get a good amount of background, leading to a very well rounded story. less

Un piccolo divertissment di King che, come al solito, non sbaglia un colpo.

I like it. Kind of a classic King short story, but with a new twist.

A creepy, fun, short get away.
