review 1: Very simple and to the point read. I liked that. I liked Steve Harvey's first book but haven't yet read the second one, both of which focus on dating and relationships. This one is different though, it focuses completely on success in life and aligning your purpose/gift with your livelihood. I liked that it wasn't a long book and that he also put summary points along with what to work on in steps at the end of each section so that readers could easily apply what they'd just read about.
review 2: A short read, with concise to the point advice that was on occasion a bit simplistic. He often provided good examples to support his point from his life experience, however some were over the top and (covertly) boastful - particularly when he talked about wanting a priv... moreate jet, I'd say this will alienate a vast majority of the audience he was writing for. However there were some excellent nuggets that he provided. He empowered by illustrating that we, ultimately, control our lifestyle and the life we lead. I wish he had gone more in depth on the internal process - thoughts, beliefs, emotional fortitude - that enable one to overcome the past, learn new ways of being and persevering throughout the hard times to get to your individual success.Overall, it was informative and encouraging, but lacking in depth. It can serve as a motivational tool that can at least begin to assist in answering the deeper questions about what it takes to really become successful! less
