Genealogical Crime Mystery
review 1: Jonathon Tayte geneologist and detective strikes again. This time he's on the trail of murders ane conspiracy centering on a possible missing heir to the Stewart dynasty. Fast-paced with plenty of chase scenes and near misses make it a page-turner. What if there had been a different heir to the British throne that was spirited away in the late 1600's and finding that heir could spell the end of the current House of Hanover? Reason enough for conspiracy and murderer with an ending set up for a sequel.
review 2: This is the third book I've read in Steve Robinson's series about a rather stout genealogist who seems to get entangled with murders each time he visits England. I loved the first two in the series but this one--not so much. It seemed far too complica
... moreted, with too many grisly murders; especially since in the end none of it seemed to matter. One thing I really missed was that this time there were no scenes taking us back to the historical period. I loved that part of the earlier books. ***Spoiler alert*** The last murder seemed completely unnecessary and killed off a character I would have liked to have seen more of in another book. But then, it almost seems like there isn't going to be another book; and that's too bad because Robinson's protagonist is just the sort of guy you want to read more about. I still enjoyed it, just not quite as much. less
