Genealogical Crime Mystery
review 1: An intriguing genealogical mystery woven around Queen Anne, Jacobite supporters through history, one enthralling conspiracy theory and the dangers confronting Jefferson Tayte as he attempts to solve the murder of his best friend and colleague. I prefer the more personal genealogy mysteries so the political plot didn't appeal to me as much as Steve's first two books but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I'm still hanging out waiting for Jefferson Tayte's own ancestry mystery to be solved though.
review 2: I would really give this a 3.5, but I round up to a 4, because of the laws of mathematics, and also because of the how the book started. The beginning was amazing. This is my first read by this author, and it got me hooked to read more. I received this for my birt
... morehday and I had just recently heard about the author and the Jefferson Tayte series. The Genealogical mystery genre interested me from the start and this didn't disappoint. As stated before, the start really hooked me and the pacing was superb. After they "solved" the mystery for the first time, it hit a bit of a lull and the pace in which I read started to slow down. The intensity level seemed to die down a little and the events started to get a little repetitive. This is my only complaint. The writing was great, however, and Mr. Robinson really impressed me with his ability to write a scene and build the characters up. I love stories about the British monarchy. This one had the right amount of a different feel to make it seem unique. I look forward to following Jefferson Tayte around on more adventures and mysteries. I enjoy finding new authors, as I tend to read all the books by the authors I like and run out of things to read. Mr. Robinson, you have earned yourself a fan. less
