review 1: Patrick Bowers, geospatial expert for the FBI, travels to an old hidden communications base in the woods of the northeastern United States to prevent a supposed ecoterrorism group from remotely firing a nuclear missile from a submarine near the Persian Gulf to target Jerusalem. The trip involves reconnecting with a feuding brother, ending an old romantic relationship, pursuit of the accomplice of serial killer Richard Basque, the continuation of his romance with Lien-hua, and the continuing development of his relationship with his stepdaughter Tessa.
review 2: I think im getting too smart for these psychological thriller/whodunit books. His 3rd book, The Knight is by far his best but that does not mean this one was not written well and that it did not enterta... morein. The Queen was a little more rewarding than The Bishop from the story, characters and the twists. The pace is lightning fast and you always feel like "Maybe I'll read just one more chapter" after every chapter. I kind off payed attention to the clues more, and figured both the twists, which is not a bad thing, but not as satisfying of a read when I first stumbled on the mystery genre. Good enough book to recommend and I will be picking up The King to wrap up the series. less
