review 1: like woah.i added the rest of the series to my to-read list about 100 pages in, and right now im extremely agitated that the library or bookstore wont open for another few hoursthis world is FASCINATING...probably the most original universe and magic....and its so cool that in the world, there is a (kinda disturbing but in an awesome way) SOURCE of magic, which well at least i havent come across beforedefinitely not a book to be reading during lunch break tho kekekecross. your life sucks monkeyballs. man do i want volume 2 right now.onward!
review 2: This is an interesting setting for sword and sorcery fantasy; that is,modern earth after some sort of event makes magic possible and populatesthe world with mythological creatures. This sort of story has been used... more inother novels (see "Ariel") - this particular version is extremely nasty and horrible. I think it might have helped if the author took more advantage of his modernearth setting; isn't Detroit still around?
