review 1: Another fantastic McRae thriller...lots of dark twisted humour and lots of gore. A slightly slower pace to the first half as the kidnapping of Britain's next big thing happens, but the second half is a real roller coaster, with drama happening which ever way you look. I got a little confused at the very end, perhaps it all ran away a bit, with so many names etc. Finished a little abruptly and there was one guy I couldn't account for, hence the four stars. But I really do enjoy this series :)
review 2: Awful!!Really, really boring. It took me almost 3 weeks to finish. This book just draaaaags along. If I weren't the type of person to always finish what I start, I would have put this book down after the second chapter. I didn't enjoy the Scottish dialect, and the
... more main character is exceptionally bland. I know this book is part of a series, but I'm definitely not going to bother reading the rest of them. less

Good story, violent as ever, and a bit far fetched but the characters are good.
