review 1: I've been reading this series for years, and I wish I could say that this book was worth the wait this year...but it wasn't. It was okay. Not bad, but not good, either. It was a story, and it told me more about Kinsey...okay, but there was no urgency to the tale, no danger that was not anticipated. Ms. Grafton's writing is well-crafted, informative, and more, but this story was not exciting. Too bad.
review 2: I have enjoyed most of the books in Sue Grafton's alphabet series featuring the private eye Kinsey Millhone. This one is longer than most but it has the same interesting and well fleshed out characters and the usual deft weaving-together of story lines at the end. With only three letters left in the alphabet I can't help wondering if and how Grafto... moren wrap up her main character's escapades in book 26. less
