review 1: This was the first book I read from the author. Maybe she ends all her books in this manner which is to say she doesn't really end them, just leaves you hanging. Unfortunately, I won't read another of her books because I don't want to invest my time only to be so disappointed and unfulfilled at the end. I found the book to be very intriguing 97% of the time but just can't get past that ending. Ugh!
review 2: I think I would have liked this book more if I had read it instead of listened to it. There were some parts I would have liked to reread to make sure I was appreciating what the author was trying to say. Despite the title, this book is definitely NOT about an arsonist, though there is one in the story. It is more about the relationships of people in a... more small town. Relationships between family, friends and outsiders. Overall I enjoyed it, but it just was not what I was expecting. less
