review 2: Oh, this is a lovely little novella. 4.5 stars really - almost perfect. Of course I'm a sucker for animal stories and fable type/allegorical stories. I loved that, while the animals were personified types, the rules of nature still held true - especially with the ending. It was just the right length for an allegory. I read it to my 9YO and she loved it too. This edition also has lovely, evocative illustrations. less
