review 1: I loved the first one of these-Brownie Groundhog and the February Surprise. This one is really good too. In this one, the groundhog and the fox are back and this time, they have a new friend, a bunny. When Brownie goes to sleep, the fox and the bunny try to find things to do to keep from getting too cold or too hungry. Unfortunately, they all seem to revolve around Brownie, who is trying to get some sleep. The fox puts together a very big surprise for her. It's lovely and will make a nice addition to the winter holiday stories.
review 2: Lovely, cozy illustrations. The story was interesting - the fox enters Brownie's home without permission and uses her things without asking in order to surprise her (he decorated her tree with lights). But Brownie isn't a
... morengry, and instead graciously enjoys her surprise. The three friends (including bunny) have a winter feast to celebrate. I chose not to puzzle too much over the moral here because every other aspect of this book is so charming. After all, the description on the dust jacket mentions "good intentions" and "high-spirited mischief." The fox is a fox, after all. less
