review 1: A great read, truly enjoyed the idea behind the debt collectors. The character was great and I loved the "side effects" and aftermath of his profession. The author cleverly built the whole society around this. My only nitpick would be for small details in the technology: for a world that has developed arm implants and such advanced technology, there are still so many little things that belong to the old world and that I was hoping to see replaced by more futuristic stuff. But that's really a nitpick, this first episode was fantastic and it got me to buy the whole first season. Can't wait to read the rest. :-)

... moreok. In this book, Lirium is a debt collecter - he takes the remaining life out of dying people and passes it on to people who pay for it to settle the debts of the dying. The debts get paid off and the wealthy get weeks, months or more added on to their lives. It seems like an excellent story and I would like to read more of it, but I would prefer if it was just put out as a book rather than as a series of chapters. I received this book free to review from Netgalley. less
